María Cano preparing entrepreneurs for the Quebradona copper mining Project

From the coordination of the Innovation and Entrepreneurship Unit of the María Cano University Foundation, 40 entrepreneurs were prepared to participate in the 1st Business Roundtable for the Quebradona copper mining project. In the preparation workshop, context issues were addressed to the business conference, the bases were presented to present a business pitch along with the recommendations to have effective business relationship appointments. This space was highly valued by the entrepreneurs who will participate in this event led by the Medellín Chamber of Commerce for Antioquia and the AngloGold Ashanti Quebradona Copper Mining Project.
The business conference will be aimed at multisectoral companies interested in contacting potential buyers / suppliers of products and / or services and will be a digital interaction channel that connects companies through planned and predetermined meetings in an environment conducive to negotiations. allowing them to exchange information on their supply and demand, thus determining the affinity and potential for doing business.

And its objectives are:
- Characterize the supply of the natural and social environment found in the project’s area of influence.
- Determine the environmentally sensitive and socially important ecosystems that should be excluded or managed in a special way for the development of the project.
- Provide the technical and environmental information that is required to obtain the permits for the use, exploitation and / or affectation of the natural resources that the project needs.
- Identify, evaluate and carry out the economic valuation of the environmental impacts for the activities of each of the stages of the project.
- Design prevention, mitigation, compensation and correction measures for the impacts generated by the project.
- Formulate a monitoring and follow-up plan for the environmental and environmental management plan (abiotic, biotic and socio-economic).
- Design a Risk Management Plan based on the identification of the natural, technological and social risks related to the project.
- Design a Project Closure Plan that guarantees the articulation of the released areas with the environment.
- Present a technical-economic proposal for the investment of 1% for the use of water resources and design a Compensation Plan for loss of biodiversity as established in the Biotic Component Compensation Manual.
