As part of the institutional commitment to continuous improvement of processes and services, the María Cano University Foundation initiated the external monitoring audit, by Icontec, whose main purpose is to evaluate the degree of compliance with the Quality Management System with in relation to the quality requirements of the ISO 9001: 2015 Standard and identify opportunities for improvement that allow a better service to be provided to the entire internal and external community.

For three days, the lead auditor Ana María Suarez Molina and the accompanying auditor Cherly Chávez Vargas, will carry out an intense agenda of verification of conditions to the missionary, strategic, transversal and support processes, which are part of the Quality Management System of María Cano, with different work teams through video calls on the Teams virtual platform. The visit is received by the Rector, Hugo Alberto Valencia Porras, the vice-rectors, the leaders of the different areas of the Institution, as well as their support teams; who have prepared in a serious and committed way to demonstrate, once again, the great institutional commitment to the growth and consolidation of the higher education center, in accordance with the goals set in the Development Plan 2017 – 2026 «Building the Future».

Specifically, during the work sessions, the following will be evaluated: Institutional Direction, Human Talent Management, Research, Extension and Social Projection, the Public Accounting programs in person at the Medellín headquarters and Physiotherapy at the Cali, Neiva and Popayán offices, as well as the Subsystem of Admissions, Registration and Academic Control; in addition to the Self-Assessment process.

It is important to highlight that María Cano was certified by ICONTEC for the first time in 2016 and in 2019 the certificate granted was renewed. Likewise, this time the scope of the certification will be expanded for all macro-processes and the 4 headquarters in the country, so this follow-up audit is consolidated as an opportunity to demonstrate the continuous improvement and strengthening of the System of Quality Management of the Institution.
