- 23 septiembre, 2025

The María Cano University Foundation participated in the 2025 Colombian Occupational Therapy Congress from September 18 to 20 in Bucaramanga, where students and professors from the program experienced an unforgettable academic and professional event. Future professionals participated for the first time in this academic gathering, which has become a space to discuss the challenges and prospects of the profession, as well as to share their visions for the future as graduates.
Additionally, research projects developed in courses and practicals were presented, strengthening the exchange of ideas with peers from different regions of the country. This milestone marks a starting point in their formation as leaders committed to disciplinary and social development.
The event also featured participation from professors:
Yasneidy Herrera Mora, who addressed current trends in upper limb intervention, highlighting the role of occupational therapy in the fabrication of splints and orthoses using innovative and cutting-edge materials.
Viviana Marcela León, who shared reflections and experiences on occupational therapy interventions in mental health processes, palliative care, and the humanization of COVID-19 intervention, emphasizing the importance of comprehensive support in these health scenarios.
This participation not only reflects the program’s commitment to academic excellence, research, and innovation but also to the personal and professional growth of our university community. These achievements strengthen María Cano’s presence on the national stage, positioning our students and faculty as key players in building a more humane and transformative future through occupational therapy.
