María Cano signs in the reactivation of the city of Cali

Within the framework of the agreement signed between the Secretariat of Economic Development of the capital of Valle del Cauca and the Colombian Association of Universities – ASCUN, with the support of the REUNE Network, Nodo Valle del Cauca, the Cali Emprende Strategy was launched. : strengthening of the centers for entrepreneurship, business and social development of the city.
This agreement has been the result of the articulated work of several higher education institutions in the region that are part of REUNE, with the accompaniment and leadership of the mayor of Santiago de Cali, Jorge Iván Ospina; accompanied by the Secretary of Economic Development, as well as union leaders and rectors of the city’s universities. The rector Hugo Alberto Valencia Porras and the coordinator of the headquarters, Néstor Alonso Perlaza Ruiz, were part of this important project of economic and social reactivation that is an example for the country.
The pact will promote business and entrepreneurship culture among businessmen and entrepreneurs from various economic sectors of the city; where the María Cano headquarters in Cali, will carry out an accompaniment and technical transfer to the Mi Pymes (micro, small and medium-sized companies) impacted by the economic crisis generated by the pandemic and the public order situation, contributing to their reactivation, growth and scalability ; as well as strengthening the technical, financial, organizational, administrative, productive and innovation processes among the benefited companies.
On this subject, the website of the Cali mayor’s office highlights the words of Mr. José Darwin Lenis, District Education Secretary, who referred to the initiative as a great opportunity for the different sectors and the productivity of the city as «A possibility of development, of working together, of making more inclusion, that ideas flow; is to make the dreams and thoughts of many young people come true. The secretariats of Economic Development and Education, together with the universities, are called to generate a network ‘Cali Emprende’ of joint work, so that we have centers of innovation, development and possibilities for so many young people who, given the economic or social situation, are demanding an opportunity ”.
