The Fundación Universitaria María Cano continues to strengthen its presence in high-impact academic and scientific settings across Colombia. On this occasion, Cristian Arbey Pinilla Ortiz, faculty member of the Nutrition and Dietetics Program, participated as an invited speaker at the 40th Congress on Metabolism and Clinical Nutrition, organized by the Colombian Association of Clinical Nutrition (ACNC), one of the country’s most important events in this field.

Held in Bogotá from August 19 to 22, the congress brought together more than 2,200 professionals, specialists, researchers, and healthcare stakeholders, establishing itself as a leading forum for scientific updates, knowledge exchange, and discussion of the latest advances in clinical nutrition, metabolism, and nutritional support.

During the event, Professor Cristian Arbey Pinilla Ortiz delivered two specialized presentations: “The Role of Micronutrients in Critical Illness” and “Gastric Resection: Key Considerations for Nutritional Prescription.” These topics addressed essential aspects of comprehensive patient care in complex clinical settings, highlighting the importance of nutrition as a key component in recovery, treatment, and quality-of-life improvement.

His participation contributed to strengthening academic dialogue among healthcare professionals from different regions of the country, fostering discussions on current challenges in clinical nutrition and emphasizing the importance of integrating up-to-date scientific evidence into patient care and decision-making processes.
