In order to strengthen internationalization in the institution and continue promoting ties of academic and scientific cooperation with academic communities from non-Spanish-speaking countries, María Cano received a visit from Vladimir Betancur, Coordinator of the Intensive English Center at Tennessee State University – TSU- of the United States with the purpose of projecting the signing of an agreement that allows the development of various activities that enrich the comprehensive training processes for the benefit of our university communities.
The meeting was attended by Tatiana Isabel Fontalvo Grueso, Head of International Relations; Nelson Alberto Rúa Ceballos Director of the Business Research and Development Center; Fanny Valencia Legarda and María Cristina Osorio Soto, researchers at the Faculty of Health Sciences and Esteban Maldonado Cuartas, Director of the Language Center.
Among the main actions that were proposed at the meeting is the promotion of the internationalization of research in such a way that researchers from both institutions can generate scientific production jointly, the promotion of academic mobility to participate in immersions that allow the improvement of English skills in the United States, as well as the reception of American students and professors to live academic experiences at María Cano. Additionally, the possibility of working on International Double Degree projects was considered.
It is worth noting that this year we carried out a cultural immersion in English at TSU, which was highlighted as a high-quality experience by the participants.
