- 28 octubre, 2019

During the fifth edition of the Environmental Fair CaliBio 2019, the Administrative Department of Environmental Management and the administration of Mayor Maurice Armitage acknowledged recognition to the María Cano Cali branch for their commitment and support to actions fostering environmental sustainability culture. In this fifth version that took place between October 23 and 26, at the Unicentro Cali Shopping Center Citadel, we sought to encourage, strengthen and inform citizens about culture for environmental sustainability and the importance of integral management to improve environmental quality
The Maria Cano Cali branch showed and participated in the fair with a stand by Professor María Isabel Mosquera and with students who also remembered the whole process that was carried out with the adoption of the nearby park “El Gran Limonar” and cleaning activities and recycling being carried out periodically. DAGMA made available to the community information on the programs and projects led by the entity, as well as the success stories of companies that have implemented clean technologies in sustainable production and consumption. Likewise, educational strategies were proposed on pollution prevention, proper use of public spaces and responsible consumption.
Among the conferences scheduled in the framework of CaliBio were Cali’s birds highlights, payment for environmental services, the importance of urban trees, the control of the ant tree, the impacts of forest fires on ecosystems, the implementation of urban orchards, the Ecobarrios strategy and the recovery of public spaces with the program of adoption of green areas.
