The María Cano University Foundation has been selected by the Ellucian Foundation to receive a global grant of USD 10,000 as part of the PATH Scholarship Program 2025, aimed at supporting students facing financial challenges. This international recognition highlights the institution’s commitment to creating opportunities and strengthening student well-being.
The Ellucian Foundation, established in 2020 by Ellucian, the global leader in software and services for higher education, is dedicated to promoting student success through scholarships and support programs. Since its creation, the foundation has awarded over $2.9 million in scholarships to students from higher education institutions worldwide, reinforcing its mission to advance equity in education.
The PATH Program—which stands for Progress, Achievement, Thriving, Hope—provides funding to institutions that work to enhance student retention and success. For 2025, an independent committee of judges selected 36 institutions in the United States and 11 institutions from countries such as Australia, Canada, Colombia, and Ireland, among which María Cano stands out for its strong commitment to its student community.
This collaboration reflects the social commitment of the María Cano University Foundation to ensure that young people do not abandon their studies due to financial hardship. The institution understands that academic dropout represents a risk to social well-being, families, and community development, and will continue building international partnerships to strengthen access to and retention in higher education.
