The Neiva headquarters of the María Cano University Foundation breaks the myths between age and technology, from community practice a very special activity is carried out with a group of older adults from commune 3 of the capital of the department of Huila, area of ​​influence of the institution, with which the program of habits and healthy lifestyles «United for a healthier community» is developed.

In articulation with the members of the Speech Therapy program, an important awareness of ear care is carried out by the teacher, speech therapist Aura Angélica Espinel Católico, accompanied by her educational community. For their part, the students of the Physiotherapy program who carry out practice I, dynamize the issue around the rights of older adults, institutional well-being carry out the active pause, promoting the importance of physical activity. The activity closes with a practical exercise in the computer room where the experience of using a computer to write your name is provided, promoting cognitive processes of reading, writing and communication processes.

This was a very emotional meeting for the group of older adults, who for the first time in their lives entered an educational environment, and more, the experience of using a computer and living the experience of higher education, accompanied by a university community. of students, professors, collaborators, researchers and graduates who show them their appreciation, respect, admiration and love.
