Mariacanovirtual presented its experience to students of the Universidad del Rosario

The digital academic coordinator of the Universidad del Rosario in the city of Bogotá, Paula Andrea Valencia Morales, invited Mariacanovirtual to present the experience of strengthening virtuality and the ICT in the Institution. This meeting was led by the coordinators of Mariacanovirtual, Dubys Mary Ramírez Jiménez, pedagogical coordinator; Sandra Cathalina Gallo García, digital design4 coordinator; Nelson Jovanny Isaza Morales and Wilder Ferney Quintero Vanegas, technology coordinators.
In the academic space, the institutional context of María Cano and its model of pedagogical mediation with the use of ICT as the bases for the development of virtual products and strategies in the Institution were presented. From this, the following aspects were presented:
- The Instructional Design process and the way in which each of the Mariacanovirtual areas intervenes in its development for the production of digital educational resources or virtual courses.
- The interactive learning books with their digital resources, in addition to those didactic elements that allow visualizing the study progress on the subject: progress bar and gem marking when accessing some of the book’s resources.
- The production statistics of digital resources since 2017 and its semi-annual growth.
- The YouTube channel as one of the means of publishing the videos that are part of the open digital educational resources.
- The Mariacanovirtual LMS with its structure for the creation of classrooms, in addition to the technological structure of the production server, its test server and the backup server strategy.
- The activities carried out by the Technology, Digital Design and Pedagogy teams to make possible the use of classrooms in Mariacanovirtual with established quality criteria.
- The implementation of the gamification strategy in classrooms.
- The accompaniment strategies that are carried out for teachers and students for the appropriation and application of the pedagogical mediation model with the use of ICT.
Being in these academic spaces strengthens the visibility of the Institution in the scenario of virtuality and ICT incorporation, as well as allowing inter-institutional relations as a mutual learning strategy.
