- 1 noviembre, 2024

Professor Mariutsi Alexandra Osorio Sanabria from the Software Engineering program participated as an invited speaker at the event «Ethics in Chemical Research.» This event was organized by the Professional Council of Chemistry of Colombia to celebrate Chemical Day in 2024 and took place in Bogotá.
The presentation was titled “Ethics and Use of Research Data in the Context of Open Science” and provided an opportunity to raise awareness about good practices for the ethical and responsible use of research data, considering the principles and values of open science and the national open science policy in Colombia.
The event was streamed live to reach the entire chemistry community and featured the notable participation of over 19 department heads from chemistry and representatives from public institutions. The attendance of each participant was valuable due to their diverse opinions, which significantly enriched the debate surrounding ethics in scientific research in our country. The choice of this topic responds to the growing need to ensure integrity and transparency in scientific research, a fundamental pillar for Colombia’s development.
Mariutsi was among the invited panelists at the event, where she analyzed the importance of ethics in handling research data, especially in the context of open science, where collaboration and access to information are increasingly important.
