- 2 septiembre, 2024
The city of Popayán, recognized nationally for its academic, cultural, gastronomic and tourism work, gave the community a new group of eight professionals in Physiotherapy and a specialist in Comprehensive Early Childhood Care, thanks to the work led by the María Cano University Foundation in the capital of the department of Cauca, which stands out for its social commitment, its research work, the projection of service, the quality and the varied offer in training programs at different academic levels.
With joy and great satisfaction, the new graduates received the diploma and the shield that accredits them as graduates of the Institution, who will now be able to deliver all their knowledge in the consolidation of a more equitable and fair country for southwestern Colombia. It is important to highlight the importance of this great city, which, as highlighted by the government on its website: «Popayán is the capital of the department of Cauca. In 2005, UNESCO designated the city of Popayán as the first city of gastronomy. for its variety and significance for the intangible heritage of Colombians and for maintaining its traditional preparation methods through oral tradition. In 2009, the Holy Week Processions were declared by UNESCO as a Masterpiece of the Oral and Intangible Heritage of Humanity. Popayán is characterized by being a satisfied city with an aristocratic, quiet soul, but also almost hidden or unknown to many, due to the insufficient information that Colombians have about it and what it can offer them. This character and condition makes it seem. as if time had stopped in it, a city “from another time.” Its people, together with the beauty of its buildings and landscapes, allow us to affirm that it is “a Colombia in Colombia.”
In her congratulatory speech, the headquarters coordinator, Angélica María Zuluaga Calle, highlighted the importance of the professional training of the new generations to contribute directly to the consolidation of the territory, the development and growth of the different sectors, among of great opportunities for well-being.
Congratulations to the new graduates… They are #MásMaríaCano.
