Meeting with the State Social Enterprise ESE Oriente

The academic team of the María Cano University Foundation, Cali headquarters, met with directors of the State Social Enterprise ESE Oriente in order to socialize the social projection project that is being developed in the population of communes 13, 14, 15 and 21 of the city of Cali, where high rates of cardiovascular risk occur. This project seeks to predict the health status of this population and design strategies to prevent diseases and promote healthy lifestyles, through an analytical study that uses data from patients treated at ESE Oriente, from August 2016 to March 2023. , to estimate the prevalence of cardiovascular risk and the factors associated with its variation. The study uses artificial intelligence techniques and statistical analysis to identify patterns and trends that allow anticipating the behavior of cardiovascular risk in this area of the capital of Valle del Cauca.
The results of the study will be used to develop and implement action plans that involve the community, health institutions and local authorities, in order to raise awareness about the importance of taking care of cardiovascular health and adopting healthy lifestyle habits. Likewise, the project will contribute to strengthening the relationship between María Cano and ESE Oriente, through the signing of two agreements that will facilitate the exchange of knowledge, experiences and resources between the two entities.
This project is an example of María Cano’s social commitment to the well-being of the communities where it is present, as well as its commitment to innovation and research applied to the solution of real problems.
