Mental Health Biennial Participation

Professor Angélica Patricia Peña Duanca from the María Cano University Foundation, Popayán campus, participated with the research paper «Body Mapping for the recognition of emotions and assertive communication in health sciences students from a private University of Bogotá» in the VII Physiotherapy Biennial and the VI Physiotherapy and Mental Health Research Meeting organized by the CES University of the city of Medellín. This was a space for dialogue and sharing of knowledge about research and strategies developed by physical therapists around the world in relation to mental health, where interdisciplinary work and interactions that from the human body movement contribute to the comprehensive development and well-being of individuals and communities.
The teacher is a Physiotherapist, Master in Community Mental Health, with experience in university teaching in the area of Public Health and social management developing projects for health promotion and disease prevention; in physiotherapy care for people with musculoskeletal, neurodegenerative and psycho-emotional conditions, prescription of physical activity and coordination of work teams.
He obtained the first place in formative research: VII Meeting of Academics in Physiotherapy and Kinesiology. Lima, Peru 2017. Research: Body stories tracing paths: Body experiences of physiotherapy students in their training practices.
