At María Cano we feel deep pride in the students and graduates of the Institution, who are an example of commitment, commitment and effort. It is for this reason that the work of Daniel Alejandro López Hoyos, a student in the Physiotherapy program, who started a venture called “Fisiolimpic, Estética Cardona”, focused on sports rehabilitation, is presented. The purpose of this business idea is to link knowledge about different areas such as aesthetics and physiotherapy, in order to reach a more general public, providing a comprehensive rehabilitation service, with the goal of consolidating itself as a recognized company in the health sector.
At Fisiolimpic, services are offered to athletes and the general public, such as therapeutic massage, functional assessment focused on sports and physical activity, postural re-education, taping bandage (electrotherapy technique in which injuries and illnesses are treated using the electricity), sports rehabilitation and muscle conditioning, services that the population of Valle del Cauca can access.
The María Cano University Foundation, through the Innovation and Entrepreneurship Unit, provides support and conducts training to all members of the university community who wish to create their own company.
About the work done, the entrepreneurial student, Daniel Alejandro López Hoyos, who leads the creation of this company, adds: «Don’t be conformists, look for, meet people who help you grow and achieve your goals. Many times we get carried away by the fear that things will go wrong or not turn out the way we want and it is normal when a project is starting, but even if everything goes wrong we must learn from our mistakes and try again until we achieve it.»
