The Popayán de la María Cano headquarters received a visit from the mayor of the municipality of Argelia, located in the south of the department of Cauca, Jhonnatan Patiño Cerón, where the offer of institutional services, the commitment to the education of the different communities settled in the country’s regions, while the possibility of establishing an agreement in favor of the inhabitants of this locality was analyzed, which seeks to be positively impacted with the signing of the peace agreement in the country and that through diversification of crops and economic alternatives, wants to be a benchmark for education, transformation and change at the national level. The visit was attended by the headquarters coordinator, Angelica María Zuluaga Calle, some members of the work team and the connection from Medellín of the Coordinator of Strategic Projects, Sandra Milena García Molina.

This activity is part of the processes of relationship with the public sector and has social responsibility purposes but also seeks to open new possibilities of generating inter-institutional projects financed economically where our academic, scientific and training work is involved in the face of our own needs and knowledge. of society, of the organizations and institutions that are part of it within an economic, political, cultural and social context of the country.

This relationship will also allow us to access scholarship programs that support our old students and that allow the arrival of new ones; This is a new social function of our headquarters and has the purpose of applying, integrating, developing and promoting, in a coordinated manner with the communities and institutions with which we share, actions and processes that contribute to the improvement of society and the sustainable development of the same with economic support that is not only the loans of the financial sector.
