The ORSU University Social Responsibility Observatory is a network of Colombian Higher Education Institutions, dedicated to observing, understanding, reflecting, conceptualizing, systematizing, communicating, promoting and sharing good practices, through research in the field of social responsibility. university, to learn from others and contribute to improving the quality of life of various interest groups; In the last meeting of the National Plenary that took place in the city of Bogotá at the facilities of the Cooperative University of Colombia, María Cano had the participation of the director of the Advanced Training Center and leader of University Social Responsibility, Sandra Mónica Ramos Ospina.

For the ORSU, the collective construction work that it has been carrying out with the member universities has been of vital importance, because it seeks to provide elements to convert university social responsibility into an essential component of the functions of Research, Teaching and Social Projection, having as strategic allies the Higher Education Institutions, the Ministry of National Education, and other entities that are linked to the educational sector around the country.

The work of the Network revolves around three strategic lines:

Advocacy – Public policy: through which ORSU seeks to articulate with other networks and social actors to influence the public policies of higher education, within the framework of RSU, seeking the constant re-significance of Higher Education Institutions and development of its substantive functions.

Knowledge management: the purpose of this is to generate and appropriate knowledge of RSU through research, studies, experiences, spaces for reflection and conceptualization to achieve a greater understanding of its components and the strengthening of HEIs as actors of social transformation. Along these lines, a model must be designed and a knowledge management system implemented to appropriate, capture, analyze and process information.

Information and communication management: which works to manage information and communication on University Social Responsibility to transfer and democratize knowledge, consolidating the University Social Responsibility Observatory as a reference in the educational sector.

In this way, the María Cano University Foundation ratifies its commitment to the social approach to higher education in the country.
