- 13 marzo, 2026
The María Cano University Foundation has officially launched Cohort IV of the Specialization in Cardiopulmonary Physiotherapy, a postgraduate program designed to strengthen advanced training for physiotherapists in the comprehensive management of cardiovascular and respiratory conditions. This new cohort welcomes 12 professionals who begin an academic journey focused on developing clinical, research, and intervention competencies grounded in scientific evidence.
The Specialization in Cardiopulmonary Physiotherapy aims to train specialists capable of responding to the current needs of the healthcare sector, particularly in areas related to therapeutic exercise prescription, functional assessment, and physiotherapy diagnosis in patients with cardiopulmonary conditions. Through this program, professionals acquire the skills required to intervene safely, effectively, and ethically in diverse healthcare settings.
Competencies in this field are developed through practical training in medium- and high-complexity clinical environments, including intensive care units, operating rooms, and cardiopulmonary rehabilitation services. In addition, the program promotes the design, coordination, and implementation of initiatives focused on health promotion, prevention of cardiopulmonary risk factors, and comprehensive rehabilitation, while also incorporating innovative approaches such as telerehabilitation in both clinical and community contexts.
With the opening of this new cohort, the María Cano University Foundation continues to strengthen its commitment to educating highly qualified healthcare professionals, contributing to the advancement of cardiopulmonary physiotherapy and to the development of solutions that improve the well-being and quality of life of individuals and communities.
