New international agreements

During his visit to Panama City to participate in the 20th Assembly of REALCUP 2023, University Transformation in the digital era, in which he represented the Colombian Association of Higher Education Institutions – ACIET, the rector of the María Cano University Foundation, Hugo Alberto Valencia Porras signed different agreements with institutions in that country, which have the objective of joining forces in the planning, execution and promotion of academic, scientific, technological and social actions of bilateral cooperation for the strengthening of institutions and their university communities.
The specific projects, programs or activities to be carried out with these institutions are focused on the design, development, promotion, evaluation of academic programs of higher education, education programs for work and human development, continuing education programs, student practices, internships. professional and investigative, research projects, and their derived products or autonomous research or innovation products, publication or academic and scientific production, the holding of academic, scientific and cultural events, social impact projects, access campaigns, permanence and graduation, university well-being programs and academic, scientific or administrative mobility. They will benefit students, professors, researchers, administrative staff and graduates from the different María Cano offices in the country and the Mariacanovirtual campus.
The agreements were signed with ISAE Universidad, a prestigious Panamanian higher education institution, founded in 1985 by Dr. Plutarco Arrocha and Dr. Xiomara de Arrocha. It was the first private post-secondary education entity approved by the Ministry of Education of Panama, and specializes in the third level of higher education. Currently, it stands out for its extensive presence in different geographic regions of the country, including areas with difficult access such as the provinces of Bocas del Toro and Darién. In addition, the university is characterized by its innovative blended study modality, which allows adult students with work and family responsibilities to access higher education and obtain a second career or begin their studies for the first time.
The Universidad Latina was founded in 1991 in Paso Canoas, Costa Rica, on the border with the province of Chiriquí, where the first Master’s in Education program opened for the first Panamanian students. It has the Faculties of Communication Sciences, Educational Sciences and Human Development, Health Sciences, Law and Political Sciences, Engineering, Business and Continuing Education.
And the Inter-American University of Panama, which was approved in 1992 by Presidential Decree and began operations in 1994, with 90 students enrolled; is an inclusive educational entity that takes into account the needs of different types of students with the aim of expanding access to education for young people, adults and professionals to contribute positively to the development of the country. It has more than 70 academic programs, in different areas of knowledge: Health Sciences, Hospitality, Gastronomy and Tourism, Engineering, Architecture and Design, Administrative, Maritime and Port Sciences, as well as Law and Political Sciences.
The international relationship of María Cano grows for the benefit of the entire university community.
