The Occupational Therapy program aims to train professionals with expertise in promoting, recovering, and adapting the processes of autonomy and independence of all people throughout the life course, in educational, work, social, community, game, among other scenarios. The program’s curriculum is characterized by quality training with emphasis on public health, inclusion and neurosciences that allow the professional to make use of cutting-edge techniques and technologies for the process of assessment or intervention to individuals and communities based on the principles of neural plasticity and adaptation processes. Likewise, they will be trained in innovation and entrepreneurship that will allow them to lead, associate and work in public and private entities in the educational, labor, social and financial sectors, among others.

    The Occupational Therapy Professional graduated from the María Cano University Foundation, is characterized by being a critical, sensitive, responsible, autonomous, ethical, supportive and humanistic professional, who strives for the welfare and continuous improvement of the quality of life and well-being of people or groups of people, through meaningful occupational participation; Likewise, he/she is projected as a professional leader, manager, dynamizer and transformer of realities and societies, as well as an innovative, creative professional with scientific thinking capable of creating and directing research projects that contribute to the creation of knowledge and to the growth and continuous evolution of the profession.

    Occupational Profile
    The Occupational Therapist will have the skills and competencies to work in any of the following fields:

    • Health (biosocial and psychosocial): attention and provision of health services in public or private entities of the sector, making use of the technological and public health approach and neurosciences.
    • Education: attention and assessment to learning processes, adaptation and inclusion of children and adolescents, as well as adult education, in public and private entities, using technology and inclusion approach and neural plasticity principles.
    • Labor: Manage and lead wellness programs, healthy lifestyles and work, vocational and professional orientation, in public and private institutions from the inclusion approach.
    • Community: Participation in the development and management of plans, programs, and protocols for the promotion of health and wellness and disease prevention to monitor and control conditions that may affect occupational health and wellness.
    • Academic and research: Designing, promoting, and directing research, innovation, and training processes, as well as constant updating, in order to enhance the creation of knowledge and strengthening of the profession.
