Official presentation of the Specialization in Cybersecurity

Before a group of guests, engineering professionals, graduates and strategic allies, the María Cano Faculty of Engineering presented the academic proposal of the Specialization in Cybersecurity that is offered face-to-face in the city of Medellín, has SNIES 110866 and qualified registration N. 000917 of January 31, 2022. The María Cano University Foundation offers the postgraduate program in Specialization in Cybersecurity in face-to-face mode, in accordance with Law 30 of 1992. Cybersecurity is a strategic organizational element where it is intended that one of the The objectives of the area in charge of information and communications technologies is to assume the responsibility of safeguarding information through technological mechanisms and tools and the power granted by national legislation adjusted to international postulates.
The Cybersecurity Specialization aims to give added value to the organization in such a way that it creates a strong enough link between the systems and security areas that lead to making the right decisions in the selection of personnel and the appropriate technological tools to guarantee the integrity, availability and confidentiality of company information.
In the activity, which took place in the auditorium of the Premium Plaza Shopping Center in Medellín, the following conferences were presented:
Computer security and trends in cybersecurity. The state of the art of cybercriminals, in charge of the engineer Carlos Arboleda Suaza, who is a Systems Engineer and Specialist in Computer Security from the University of San Buenaventura, with a Master’s Degree in Software Architecture from the Colombian Polytechnic Jaime Isaza Cadavid, has 12 years of experience years as an undergraduate teacher and researcher in subjects of Systems Engineering, Electronics, Sound, Multimedia, Industrial, Data and Software, for the areas of Software Design and Development; He has taught postgraduate courses in Computer Security and Geographic Information Systems at the University of San Buenaventura. He has worked as an architect and designer of business software and robotics with great recognition in companies such as Bancolombia, Sura, Protección, Teleperformance, ISA, Prebel, Crystal and Grupo Éxito.
Current state of cyberthreats and the main groups of adversaries or groups of cybercriminals, by engineer Dorian Norberto Ardila Puentes, who is a Systems Engineer, Master in Cybersecurity, with extensive experience in handling information security and cybersecurity in companies. Connoisseur of information security and cybersecurity solutions, expert in implementation, management, configuration, support and presales of IT security infrastructure and in the administration and support of cybersecurity platforms. Passionate about the field of cybersecurity with more than 10 years of experience in the sector helping organizations detect cyber threats and stop adversaries from all over the world. He has held positions from cybersecurity engineer, cybersecurity analyst in different organizations and cybersecurity architect.
Cryptography in cybersecurity, by Mr. Mauricio Amariles Camacho, who is an Electronic Engineer, Master in Networks and Information Security from the Higher School of Automatic Electronic Computing in Laval – France, with experience in handling programming languages and methodologies and tools that seek information security. He is an auditor in information security management systems and has worked as an information security expert in companies such as Digital People in Paris, Intergroup Web Services, Sistrandina, and Avantel, among others.
The program was presented by Dean Raúl Gilberto Salazar Saldarriaga and Professor of the Software Engineering program, Yeiler Alberto Quintero.
