The María Cano University Foundation, Popayán headquarters, participated in the first Ordinary Assembly of the Association of Higher Education Institutions of Cauca- ASIES Cauca, where the rectors and directors of the institutions that are part of the union were present and where it was held delivery of report for the year 2022; It was agreed to carry out an action plan that is being developed for this year, among which is the selection of the identity for the organization that should highlight the presence in this important region of southwestern Colombia, collaborative work, the different cultures present in the department, as well as the consolidation of the area as a leader in academic, investigative, extension and well-being work for the development and growth of all the inhabitants.

ASIES Cauca is a non-profit organization that works in a network to mainly benefit university students from the Department and is made up of higher education institutions: the University of Cauca, the Comfacauca University Corporation, the Colegio Mayor del Cauca, the Antonio Nariño University, the School of Public Administration, the National Open and Distance University, the Cooperative University of Colombia, the University Foundation of Popayán, the Autonomous University Corporation of Cauca and the María Cano University Foundation.
