- 16 mayo, 2023

In the capital of Valle del Cauca, the conference on Science, Movement and Innovation (CMI) version 2023-01 was held, with the presentation entitled «Skeletal muscle mass and its incidence in the performance of speed skaters», by Melissa Gómez Aristizábal, a physiotherapist graduated from María Cano, who demonstrated solid knowledge in the area of training and professional experience thanks to her participation in the Fisioter research hotbed during her training process. It is important to highlight that the presentation was the result of an institutional research project. Additionally, the posters were presented, where attendees had the opportunity to learn about fifteen research projects developed in different practice settings: sports, work, and clinical. In addition, six projects that stood out for their focus on the classroom experience were socialized, demonstrating the commitment of the students with their academic training and the application of the knowledge acquired.
María Cano also carried out the Health Day at the Plasticaucho company called: «Relaxation, a life without stress», in charge of the seventh-semester labor practice students and the advisory teacher María Alejandra Rivera, who interacted with the administrative staff, generating a well-being space in lighting, temperature, music and special aromas that contribute to the quality of life of the community.
Finally, the Cali headquarters was present at the «Ciudadela de la Alegría» conference, an event organized by the Secretary of Recreation and Sports of the Santiago de Cali mayor’s office, a space that had the participation of eight thousand attendees, with the support and commitment of the sixth semester students of the physiotherapy program, who developed activities in the lactation area and baby gym, promoting spaces for early stimulation and psychomotor development in children from 0 to 5 years of age in the company of their respective parents.
The María Cano University Foundation continues to promote its visibility in the region, through interaction with the community. #MásMaríaCano
