Outstanding international research

The María Cano University Foundation is currently executing two research contracts with the World Health Organization; These investigations develop three systematic reviews of the literature, whose main objective is to provide the scientific and medical community, worldwide, with transnational recommendations that refer to a clinical practice guideline on movement behaviors (physical activity, sedentary behavior, and sleep time) in the pediatric population.
For María Cano and the Faculty of Health Sciences, it is an academic and research achievement of the greatest significance and importance at a national and international level, because research promotes the path of progress in internationalization processes, associated with teaching. , research, extension and social projection.
It is important to highlight the researcher Lisette Ethel Iglesias González, master’s degree in integral intervention of the athlete and teacher of the Physiotherapy program of the Faculty of Health Sciences at the Medellín campus, professional who managed this research project, who is talent and intellectual capital fundamental for the Institution, due to its trajectory and recognition that it has at a national and international level. In the same way, important national and international research allies stand out, such as post-doctor Julia Bidonde and doctor José Francisco Meneses Chávez, both commissioners for the World Health Organization.
This academic achievement is a clear example of the advances that María Cano has currently developed in terms of international cooperation and research and motivates researchers at the Medellín, Cali, Neiva and Popayán campuses to carry out similar proposals, such as that achieved with the World Health Organization.
