Participation in ASCUN National Games

The María Cano University Foundation begins, as of Tuesday, September 27, the process of sports representation in the ASCUN National Games, which will be held in the city of Cali, Valle del Cauca until October 9. This national meeting becomes the ideal space to promote sport as a strategy that promotes healthy lifestyles and also becomes a platform for cultural exchange that favors comprehensive training.
The delegation of the María Cano University Foundation is made up of four athletes who will compete to raise the name of the institution:
- Natalia Ruiz López, from the Physiotherapy program at the Medellín headquarters, participates in Swimming, in the 100-meter freestyle, 50-meter freestyle and 50-meter butterfly
- Juan David Pacheco Góngora, from the Physiotherapy program at the Cali headquarters, participates in Taekwondo in the combat modality in the 74-80 kg category
- Juan Pablo Jiménez Velarde, from the Physiotherapy program at the Cali headquarters, participates in Taekwondo in the combat modality in the 68-74 kg category
- Simón Zapata Lopera, from the Physiotherapy program at the Medellín headquarters, participates in Table Tennis in the men’s individual modality
A total of 4,877 athletes from 134 higher education institutions meet in the city of Cali between September 26 and October 9, to compete in 19 disciplines: chess, athletics, basketball, 3×3 basketball, frisbee, soccer, futsal, judo, karate do, weightlifting, swimming, skating, water polo, rugby, taekwondo, field tennis, table tennis, volleyball and beach volleyball.
María Cano wishes many successes and great achievements to the athletes so that they achieve a great presentation in this valuable inter-university space.
