The award was given by the Fundación Club Ciencia de Chile, an active member of the Milset Amalar International Movement for Scientific and Technical Recreation in Latin America, together with the Faculty of Health Sciences of the Central University of Chile. It is important to note that the project was advised by Professor Gladys Tamayo Perdomo, from the Young Researcher Program, which makes the Institution proud thanks to the role that graduates play in the work that provides quality of life to the community.
Natali Rendon tells us a little about this experience: «This experience was very gratifying in many ways, I could feel the reward for all the effort I put into the development of the project. From a personal point of view, it was challenging but also exciting, since it was my first time in an airport, the whole process touched me alone, but with friends who were guiding me through chat; obviously it was also my first time on a plane and outside the country. And from the academic aspect it was very enriching , since there were several categories from primary, secondary and techniques/technologies/universities, as well as the participation of delegations from many Latin American countries. We had the opportunity to listen to their presentations and realize the topics of interest in research, and how the support from an early age in projects such as Ondas Colombia. In short, there is a lot of talent and I hope that the necessary support will continue to be provided for the growth of these young people in science And precisely, I want to highlight that on this occasion, although I already felt that I could not scale any further with the project, I did not stop trying. In order to get to Chile, although I had part of the financial support from the university, I carried out other activities such as raffles and food sales to cover a little the rest of the expenses, so, when hearing my project as first place in the category of college, I couldn’t help but cry and I cried thinking about how much I had tried and what a great achievement this meant in my career. Lastly, it was impossible to be in another country and not enjoy the culture, food and sights. Personally, there was no rest, I had the opportunity to meet people with a beautiful spirit and energy, in free spaces we went to explore the streets of Santiago de Chile, eat street food and take many photos. In short, an experience that I hope many more people can live.»
