Participation in the Biennial of Physiotherapy and Research Meeting

At the María Cano University Foundation we exalt the commitment to institutional visibility generated by students and professors who present their knowledge to the community. On this occasion, members of the university community participate on August 4, 5 and 6 in the VII Biennial of Physiotherapy and VI Meeting of Researchers «Physiotherapy in mental health: an interdisciplinary approach» that takes place at the CES University of the city of Medellin. Their participation is important for the representation that they lead of the Institution at a national and international level, as well as for the articulation of academic networks that demonstrate the importance and recognition of the role of the physiotherapist in the emerging field of mental health from the promotion of health and disease prevention.
The work performed is scheduled as follows:
Professor Jhon Fredy Santos Gómez is on the panel called: «Current state of research in physical therapy in mental health» with the paper «Systematization of the experience of body approaches to chronic pain and body awareness in a population victim of the armed conflict of the municipalities of Vigía de Fuerte and Bojayá – Colombia».
The student Laura Isabel Rodas Echavarría participates with the presentation «Relationship of mental health conditions with human body movement during the Covid-19 pandemic, reported in the scientific literature».
And the teacher Angie Estefanía Mesa Burbano represents the Institution with the presentation: «Experiences from the Seedbed of Neurorehabilitation and Social Inclusion of the María Cano University Foundation».
On its website, the organizing University highlights that the VII Biennial of Physiotherapy and the VI Meeting of Researchers «Physiotherapy in mental health: an interdisciplinary approach», will emphasize the role of the physiotherapist in the planning, implementation and evaluation of strategies that favor the positive mental health as the basis for good health, because as the WHO has repeatedly mentioned, there is no health without mental health. It is aimed at physiotherapists, physiotherapy students and other related professionals interested in reflecting on mental health.
