The María Cano University Foundation, Neiva headquarters, was present at the VII International Physiotherapy Seminar that was held virtually, in which the topic of oncological physiotherapy, topics and subtopics related to this important process that covers priority aspects for action were discussed. professional, such as public health, cancer in Colombia, the clinical approach to the person with cancer from physiotherapy, mental health and the work of the professional in physiotherapy with the person suffering from cancer.

Teacher Maira Alejandra Camargo was in charge of representing María Cano, in this important academic and research event, with the presentation: «Interventions from the promotion of health and primary prevention of cancer in Colombia» where she presented her knowledge and experience on the main types of cancer present in Latin America and the incidence of cancer in the country. In addition, he spoke about the public health plan and how the cancer issue has been dealt with within the plan that is offered to all inhabitants; Likewise, the participation of the students of María Cano in the recovery processes of cancer patients was announced, also contributing to the role that the Institution fulfills in issues related to the health and well-being of the community in the department of Huila and the social work that has been carried out in recent years with the support of the university community.

This work of projection and socialization of knowledge responds to the institutional mission of being present in the different local, regional, national and international scenarios; while contributing to compliance with the institutional principles of respect, equity, excellence, leadership, transparency and responsibility, which are present in the training provided to future professionals so that they put their learning at the service of society.
