Pilot test of face-to-face degrees María Cano
- 18 febrero, 2021

Undoubtedly the covid-19 pandemic changed the way of seeing the world and of carrying out activities in different institutions and organizations, to the point that Higher Education Institutions, including María Cano, adjusted a year without being able to perform face-to-face events. The degrees, the moment most awaited by the students of the different programs, had to be carried out virtually during 2020. In the search for gradual reactivation, the Institution’s directives made the decision to evaluate the possibility of conducting pilots degrees at the Medellín, Cali, Neiva and Popayán campuses, an activity that became a reality on Thursday, February 18.
La María Cano, taking into account the different applications that our students close to graduating have submitted, in which they express their willingness to receive their degree in person, it has been considered to carry out a pilot test that allows the graduation ceremony to be carried out in compliance with the guidelines of the National, Departmental and Local Government, as well as the biosafety protocol implemented in the institution. For this reason, it has been preparing and has taken all the necessary and exceptional measures and implemented the best strategies to ensure that the graduation ceremony continues to be a special moment.
Aware of social responsibility and discipline and, above all, of individual self-care, a pilot test was launched, carrying out the graduation ceremony in person at the Medellín, Cali, Neiva and Popayán campuses, in two different days on the same day, after fulfilling the biosafety protocol, guarantee capacity, maintain control and social distancing, in addition to the guidelines that are necessary for the protection and good management of the event, to ensure that security is fulfilled in the development of the institutional purpose. The realization of the graduation ceremony in person, was subject to the changes that may take place before the issuance of new guidelines or regulations that are issued on the matter, and the institution will look for the best alternatives to give continuity to the graduation process and that the ceremony remains a pleasant experience.
María Cano gave the society professionals in Physiotherapy, Speech Therapy, Psychology, Business Administration, Public Accounting and the Specialization in Occupational Health Management. Congratulations to the graduates.
