- 4 diciembre, 2020

From the María Cano Open Chair, the Vice-Rector’s Office for Extension and Social Projection led the socialization of the University Social Responsibility Policy, during this space, it was sought to sensitize the university community to this important issue and its appropriation in academic and administrative life of the Institution, taking into account that its actions involve the work of all academic programs and different areas at the national level.
The María Cano University Foundation understands University Social Responsibility as the permanent commitment to comply with the postulates of its philosophy, which allows its stakeholders to respond to the impacts it may generate on society and the environment through ethical management and transparent, the comprehensive training of professionals and socially responsible citizens, the generation and dissemination and social appropriation of knowledge, as well as commitment and linkage with other sectors of society, in favor of the common good, justice, social equity and of sustainable development.
From this component of comprehensive training and educational impacts of the University Social Responsibility Policy, the institution seeks to guide interaction, dialogue and institutional intervention with its stakeholders, articulating the missionary processes of teaching, research and extension to respond to the needs and problems of the society it serves, within a transparent and responsible management framework.
