Popayán Campus now has a Phonoaudiology program

The Ministry of National Education confirmed to Maria Cano the authorization to offer the program of Phonoaudiology in the Popayan headquarters, from this date forward. It is a health profession that addresses human communication, its disorders and variations. It is focused on the areas of hearing, language, speech, voice and oral-pharyngeal function, which can be affected by biological, psychological or social causes that affect the communicative well-being of people and their quality of life.
In this sense, the phonoaudiologist is the ideal professional to deal with them due to the scientific and deep knowledge of human communication as a sphere of personal and social development. His actions are oriented to the identification of the communicative needs of the population, evaluation, diagnosis and intervention of communication disorders and alterations in the educational, social welfare, health, and business sectors. He is a manager of projects and research that contribute to individual, communities and profession’s development.
The program will be offered in the face-to-face methodology and will last 9 semesters and 160 academic credits. It has SNIES 109249 and Qualified Registration: 007192 of May 12th, 2020, its validity is for 7 years.
