APTIS: Multilevel English Test

APTIS is a multilevel test developed by experts at the British Council in language assessment and regulated by the UK Government’s Qualifications and Examinations Regulatory Office (Equals). It is supported by the latest research in evaluation and provides reliable results to help make better decisions about language training, benchmarking, or selection processes.

The 4 Skills Test is available in the following variants: Aptis General, Aptis for Teachers, Aptis for Teens, and Aptis Advanced.

• Aptis General: Evaluates levels from A1 to B2 on the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages (CEFR). Candidates scoring higher than B2 obtain a C level in the CEFR.

• Aptis for Teachers: This is a general English exam adapted for the educational context, assessing up to B2 on the CEFR. Candidates demonstrating a level higher than B2 receive a C.

• Aptis for Teens: Evaluates the same functional knowledge content from the CEFR according to different contexts, with vocabulary and real-life situations tailored to teenagers aged 13 to 17. It assesses up to C1 on the CEFR.

• Aptis Advanced: Assesses language proficiency from B1 to C2 on the CEFR.

We are accredited administrators by the British Council to conduct the Aptis Test.

Preparation Course for the APTIS International Exam

This Aptis preparation course aims to equip the English language user with the knowledge of the exam structure and provide a guide on how to study effectively to achieve a more accurate score on the test.

Course Objectives:

• Learn how to identify and emotionally handle the uncertainty that arises when taking the exam.
• Understand the structure of the exam to have a clear idea of how to approach it.
• Develop exercises focusing on the different parts of the exam for autonomous training.
• Comprehend short texts with basic structures and vocabulary through reading techniques (skimming and scanning).
• Use basic structures and vocabulary to produce short formal and informal texts for writing and interaction tasks.
• Take practice tests that allow you to track your progress by the end of the course.

Includes: Preparation course for the exam and the Aptis test, which can be taken at any of the four campuses of Fundación Universitaria María Cano.
