The María Cano Neiva headquarters seeks to strengthen inter-institutional alliances with different municipalities in the Department of Huila, in southern Colombia. On this occasion, the coordinator of the Institution in this region of the country, Diana María Salazar Rojas and the marketing area, visited the municipality of Rivera, Huila, to present all the actions of the study center; with the relationship with the mayor of this town, John Jairo Yepes Perdomo, a work table was developed with the social manager, María José Cuellar Cubillos; the Manager of the Divino Niño de Rivera Hospital and a graduate of the Institution, Tania Patricia Trujillo Mosquera, where the academic offer of María Cano and the projects in which it can be contributed within the municipal development plans were initially socialized. In the same way, other meetings with the educational sector were held, publicizing the work with the undergraduate and graduate programs in the public and private schools of the municipality, through the heads of the nucleus.

The visit to the green municipality of Huila made it possible to publicize the new Speech Therapy program through the different media of the town, inviting the people of Rivera to be part of the María Cano, as an institution of Higher Education, committed to progress of the region and with the well-being of the entire population through the academic training of competent professionals who contribute to the growth and development of the region.

It is expected to create lasting alliances and relationships between María Cano and the municipality of Rivera, with agreements that allow, through the academy, support for the development of the area and its inhabitants, taking into account that professionals from the different areas education will be protagonists in the process of economic reactivation in which the country is committed, when it tries to overcome the pandemic generated by the coronavirus.
