The Palliative Care Association of Colombia-ASOCUPAC recognizes the comprehensive and continuous care of palliative care patients from a multidimensional perspective, it is for this reason that it shows the importance of the disciplines that contribute to human rehabilitation, such as physical therapy, respiratory and occupational therapy, among others, through a series of academic events, all the participation in the III International Congress of Comprehensive and System-integrated Palliative Care is prepared, which will take place from November 29 to 30, 2023 at the Hotel Intercontinental of the city of Cali.

In this work of preparation for this important event, doctors specialized in palliative care and other health professionals linked to the area participated, where the physiotherapist Isabel Cristina Ángel Bustos, specialist in critical care, MsC in care palliative care at the University of Valladolid and a professor at the María Cano University Foundation, who was invited to give the talk «Rehabilitation in Palliative Care», a space designed to facilitate and promote ongoing training on these topics, recognizing the shortcoming that exists within training and recognizing that they are equally important within oncological and non-oncological palliative care for the formation of the interdisciplinary palliative care team. The academic activity was also carried out prior to the ASOCUPAC diploma in Rehabilitation in Palliative Care.

Professor Isabel Cristina Ángel Bustos is a professional with important national and international accreditations thanks to her academic training in palliative care at the San Pablo Argentina Foundation, the diploma in oncological physiotherapy at the Autonomous University of Manizales, the diploma in oncology from the Catholic University from Chile, is a founding member of the group of experts in oncological physiotherapy, palliative care and HIV, EGOPHI, with experience with terminal patients in Intensive Care Units and Hemodialysis Units, as well as extensive experience as a teacher and speaker at national and international events. international institutions in oncological physiotherapy and palliative care.
