Programs and institutions with accreditation in Colombia
- 25 mayo, 2021

In the previous Accreditation Bulletin, Carlos Mario Lopera, director of El Observatorio de la Universidad Colombiana, showed the importance and levels of demand for accreditation and what this means for an institution like María Cano. Now, it makes a contextualization on the level of advancement of accreditation in the Colombian university system and in the Physiotherapy, Speech Therapy and Business Administration programs. The academic programs offered in the country must be previously approved by the Ministry of National Education, and all must have a code assigned by the National Higher Education Information System -SNIES. This applies to those who meet the key operating conditions (or qualified registration), such as those who are accredited in high quality.
There, in the SNIES, which is freely available through https://snies.mineducacion.gov.co any student and teacher can identify the status of their academic program. For example, which institution offers it, if it is active or not, what is the approved modality to offer it (face-to-face, distance to virtual), its level of training (if it is a technical, professional, technological, university, or postgraduate program) , the validity of the accreditation or registration and the number of the resolution that approved it.
