The Physiotherapy program of the Neiva headquarters continues to strengthen research from the generation of new knowledge, with the publication of the research article entitled: «Quality of life and labor inclusion of people with disabilities», thanks to the work of teachers and researchers Piedad Rocío Lerma Castaño and Gladys Tamayo Perdomo, who belong to the Fisioter group, in a collaborative and relationship exercise, as well as interdisciplinary with the researcher from the National Open and Distance University, Omar Alberto Alvarado Rozo and the researcher Yolima Wees Verhelst from the University Saint Bonaventure; This publication contributes to the generation and transfer of knowledge, according to the needs of the context.
The article is the result of a research project and is published in the Médica de Risaralda journal, from the Technological University of Pereira, which according to the indexing is in SciELO Colombia (Scientific Electronic Library Online), in the index of the Latin American Literature in Health Sciences (LILACS), Latindex directory and catalogue, EBSCO-MedicLatina, IMBIOMED, Index Copernicus, DOAJ Directory of Open Access Journals, NewJour Electronic Journals & Newsletters, Dialnet, Latinoamericana Revistas, among others.
The publication aims to identify the characteristics of labor inclusion and health-related quality of life of people with disabilities in a population group from Neiva (Colombia). Materials and methods: Descriptive, analytical, cross-sectional study with a quantitative approach and non-experimental design, in a sample of 64 people with disabilities. The foregoing shows how the work carried out from the research processes continues to strengthen critical thinking and the social commitment of the physiotherapy program in the region.
