The research article called: «Concordance between 2 knee joint mobility measurement systems in healthy young subjects: Cross-sectional study» was published in the scientific journal Physiotherapy of Spanish origin, which is found in the ScienceDirect database and has a Q4 classification according to the SCIMAGO scale. The author of this article is the physiotherapist Leydin Carolina Vásquez Henao, a teacher at the María Cano University Foundation at the Cali campus, who had the cooperation of Iris Lamar Zarama Tobar, a collaborator in the capital of Valle del Cauca, and the teacher Esperanza Gómez Ramírez.
To carry out this study, a total of 180 young people participated, selected randomly, with an average age of 21.7 years; In the analysis, the knee flexo-extension movement was measured passively and the interclass correlation index (ICC) was used in order to measure the degree of consistency between the quantitative assessments performed. The objective of the research was to analyze the concordance of the universal goniometer and the digital goniometer, which were used to measure the flexion and extension movements of the knee bilaterally in healthy young subjects and as a conclusion of the study it was deduced that there is a very good concordance in the use of these measurement instruments.
Due to the reliability shown by the results of physical examinations performed using the universal goniometer, it is determined that this method is accurate in measuring the Range of Joint Mobility (ROM) which is very important in the evaluation process of patients with functional disorders. The article was sent, analyzed and accepted by the information analyst company Elsevier España (S.L.U.) and was published on Wednesday, May 18, 2022 in the scientific journal Physiotherapy.
