With the objective of publicizing the programs and services of the María Cano University Foundation and its possible action with the Corporación Cívica Centro de Medellín, which is a private organization that works without profit, for the well-being of the inhabitants, merchants and passers-by of this important sector of the capital of Antioquia, the Institution received Mr. Jorge Mario Puerta Soto and his management team to take a tour that allows to outline, in the future, work proposals and alliances that benefit the community.

The actions that will be undertaken from the social projection and the academic work are: the organization of a university fair that allows the visibility of the higher education institutions located in commune 10 – La Candelaria, the design of an immersion in Spanish for visiting foreigners in this area of ​​the capital of Antioquia, with the participation of the Language Center, contemplating cultural and gastronomic issues, as well as tours of traditional and emblematic sites in the center.

From the social projection, the possibility of creating a network of downtown universities is studied for the consolidation of a volunteer network on issues such as: civility, security, accompaniment to street inhabitants, environmental dynamics and the presentation of the IPS María Cano for the service of the inhabitants and merchants, so that they find a solid proposal in health, without having to move away from the sector in which they study, work and live.

María Cano wants to lead this initiative as a commitment to the area in which the Institution has been located for more than 35 years, which is the axis of the city’s actions, through which more than 1,500,000 people pass every day and where Work will be done on the construction of the new physical infrastructure that will allow the consolidation of academic and administrative work, always serving the community.
