Science in the Park: explore, learn, and share
- 4 agosto, 2025

Representatives of the María Cano University Foundation, Popayán campus, participated in the meeting convened by the Cauca Research Board—a network made up of the 11 Higher Education Institutions (HEIs) and ASIES Cauca (the Association of HEIs) present in the department of Cauca—with the goal of advancing the organization of the event “Science in the Park.”
Science in the Park is a strategy aimed at bringing science, technology, and innovation closer to the public through participatory, playful, and accessible experiences. Its purpose is to spark scientific interest and promote scientific vocations among children, youth, and the community at large, highlighting the role of the Cauca STI Ecosystem as a promoter of knowledge.
In this edition, Science in the Park will take place on September 24, 25, and 26, with a schedule of activities aimed at students, teachers, and research seedbeds, all of whom are invited to participate actively. The call for project submissions is currently open and will remain so until August 22.
During the meeting, María Cano was actively involved as part of the organizing committee, contributing ideas and proposals that will support the collective development of the event. Open and collaborative dialogue was essential for advancing the consolidation of this academic and cultural initiative that aims to bring science closer to the community.
