- 8 agosto, 2022

Scopus Title Evaluation Support notified the editorial team of the Journal of Research and Innovation in Health Sciences that, The Scopus Content Selection and Advisory Board (CSAB) , reviewed the indexing request and approved its coverage. Scopus is the world’s largest abstract and citation database. It contains relevant research evaluated by experts; In addition, it provides access to reliable data, metrics and analytical tools. As of April 2022, Scopus had 25,837 active journals. Scopus indexes content that is rigorously vetted and selected by the Scopus Content Selection and Advisory Board (CSAB), an international group of independent, external research scientists with journal publishing experience, representing all major scientific disciplines. Throughout the year, board members are responsible for reviewing all new titles that are suggested to Scopus, as well as reviewing and ensuring that the quality of existing content is maintained. Approximately 3,500 new titles are suggested for inclusion in Scopus each year, but only 33% of those titles meet the technical criteria. And of those approximately 1,155 titles, only 50% are accepted after CSAB review.
There are many criteria that a scientific journal must meet to be accepted by SCOPUS. Among them, it is necessary for a journal to have been published for a minimum of two years. The Journal of Research and Innovation in Health Sciences began its publication in 2019, and in the years 2020-2021 it began its preparation to present itself to Scopus and other indexers. Once the criteria were adjusted and each one of them met, on January 17, 2022 the request for indexing was submitted to Scopus, and after review by the Scopus Advisory and Content Selection Council, on August 2, 2022. coverage approved. With this approval, RIICS becomes part of the 123 Colombian journals indexed in Scopus. Added to this are other important indexing achievements this year: Dialnet, Redalyc, Periodica, Lilacs and CINAHL Ultimate from EBSCOHost.
