Sectional Committee of Occupational Health and Safety in Antioquia created

María Cano’s Coordinator of safety and health at work, Ophir Sanín Cruz and Professor Mónica Alexandra Cadavid Buitrago, were chosen to take part at the Sectional Committee for Safety and Health at Work in the 2019 – 2021 period, representing the Higher Education Institutions with training in occupational safety and health or occupational hazards. The Committee works as guarantor of compliance with the national plan in this field by making sure promotion of workers’ welfare is effective all over the department.
On December 3, 2019 the first meeting will be held in which representatives of the Ministry of Labor, the Government of Antioquia, the Sectional Department of Health and Protection of Antioquia, SENA, Indeportes, Positiva ARL, ARL Colmena, Axa Colpatria ARL, the CUT (Workers Union), the General Confederation of Labor, the National Federation of Coffee Growers, ACOPI, the CES University, the University of Antioquia, the University Institution of Envigado, Uniminuto, the Jaime Isaza Cadavid Polytechnic, the Colombian Society of Ergonomics and the Colombian Association of Integral Security. This Committee is appointed by the Ministry of Labor through the Territorial Director of Antioquia, Nicolás del Valle Berrío, through Resolution No. 2779 of October 24, 2019.
This designation represents for María Cano the confirmation of the institutional commitment with the social development of the communities and, especially, of the collaborators of the different organizations that have in their hands the progress and development of the country.
