Socio-occupational orientation workshops María Cano

With this work, the group of professionals from Institutional Wellbeing, accompanies the Marketing area to provide tools with which students from schools can identify what their vocation of work for life is, as well as know what their desire is or what their expectation is. when facing a decision about your professional or labor fruit. In addition, the presentation of María Cano, its faculties, spaces, and dissemination of the Education Fair «Vivamos la U» is made. These workshops are led by professionals from the Human Development area of the María Cano University Foundation: Miguel Marín, Jorge Jiménez, Nadya Sierra and the psychologists in training Andrea Rendón and Valentina Gómez, who share experiences and resources that provide them with more alternatives to both young people as parents or guardians, at this very important moment in the project of personal and family life.
These workshops have been held since Monday, September 7 of this year and are scheduled until the first week of October, although the offer remains open according to demand. The Institutions that have been beneficiaries of these workshops so far are: I.E. El Carmelo, I.E José Manuel Restrepo Vélez, I.E. El Pinal, I.E. Saint John Bosco, I.E. Santa Juana and the Fundación aliada Marina Orth; benefiting not only students in grades 10 and 11, but also parents or guardians.
An approximate average of 250 people has been actively participating in the meetings, who state how convenient the strategies that were offered to them are for the students or guardians because the bet that we have with these workshops is mainly to guide young people to take The decision and not just marketing to the Higher Education Institution, is an ethical bet for the benefit of students and their families.
The workshops are scheduled from the Marketing Office, who are the ones who directly contact the psycho counselors of each institution and the intervention is planned during the same class time, becoming an activity valued as essential in the process of accompanying their students. It is projected for the year to reach more than 200 schools throughout the metropolitan area.
