State and academia join forces against Yellow Fever

As part of the health alert due to yellow fever, a virtual inter-institutional coordination meeting was held on May 8, with the participation of the Huila Departmental Health Secretariat and representatives from various universities in the region.
The meeting aimed to strengthen coordination between educational institutions and health authorities to implement preventive actions, epidemiological surveillance strategies, and vaccination campaigns. During the session, university leaders expressed their willingness to support efforts from academia, particularly in vaccination processes, awareness, and community education.
The Health Secretariat emphasized the importance of joint efforts in managing this contingency and reiterated the call for the public to keep their vaccination schedules up to date and to take preventive measures against the spread of the mosquito vector.
The meeting was attended by Campus Director Diana María Salazar Rojas, also representing the Board of Directors of the University Network, and Hilda María Rincón, Occupational Health and Safety Assistant at Fundación Universitaria María Cano, Neiva campus.
