Strengthening Patient Safety: Students from Fundación Universitaria María Cano at the XI Health Tourism Symposium

Students in their fourth semester at Fundación Universitaria María Cano, Cali campus, participated in the XI Patient Safety Symposium «Health Tourism,» organized by the Mayor’s Office of Santiago de Cali. This event took place on October 15 and brought together experts in the fields of patient safety and health tourism.
During the symposium, students had the opportunity to hear from prominent speakers on topics such as preventing medical errors, risk management, and implementing strategies to improve patient safety within the context of health tourism. Specific topics discussed included the regulation of cross-border medical care, the protection of patients’ rights, and the importance of effective communication in medical care.
Participation in this event allowed our students to expand their knowledge and skills regarding patient safety and health tourism, enabling them to provide more effective and safer care in their future professional practice.
