The best averages of the last academic period

At the Medellín campus, the students who had the first three positions in the academic average of the second semester of 2021 were gathered for this opportunity. In a public act that took place in the Fundadores auditorium, the rector Hugo Alberto Valencia Porras, and the Vice Chancellors: Jorge Albeiro Herrera Builes, Carlos Julio Escobar Noreña and Andrés Gutiérrez Villa, praised those who were recognized as the best students of the different academic programs of María Cano. The Scholarship for Academic Excellence and the Honorable Mention for the Best Averages respond to Agreement No. 060 of the Superior Council of September 27, 2017, through which the Academic Regulations are adopted, in Chapter XIII Stimuli, Article 67 establish this recognition to the three undergraduate students of each program, who reach the highest academic average in the immediately preceding period.
The regulations establish as requirements for obtaining the Academic Excellence Scholarship to have enrolled and approved, without qualifying, all the subjects that make up the study plan, within the respective academic period; students who have only enrolled in the internship are exempted, are not repeating subjects, accredit in said academic period an average of no less than four point five (4.5), that there is a favorable opinion on the part of the Faculty Council for this recognition, not having been disciplinary sanctioned and that the average of the periods completed is not less than four (4.0).
In this version, the first place winners were: Laura Rivera Cano from the Physiotherapy program, Estefanía Colorado Gómez from Speech Therapy, Claudia Yurani Rivera Cardona from Psychology, Johana Meliza Álvarez Jaramillo from Business Administration (face-to-face), Sandra Milena Toro Muñoz from Administration of Companies (virtual), Miguel Ángel Upegui Restrepo of Public Accounting (face-to-face), Ledis Yurani Urrego of Public Accounting (virtual) and José David Álvarez Arbeláez of Software Engineering.
In second place Andrea Parra Chavarría from Physiotherapy, Erica Yanid Prisco Soto from Speech Therapy, Ángela María Viana Quintero from Psychology, Camilo Arcila Valencia from Business Administration (face-to-face), Marileny Mazo Mazo from Business Administration (virtual), Laura Patricia Lopera Posada of Public Accounting (face-to-face), Claudia Marcela Vélez Hernández of Public Accounting (virtual) and Santiago Zapata Álvarez of Software Engineering.
In third place Marihan Sofía Castro Ruiz and María Paula Pérez Agudelo from Physiotherapy, María Isabel Botero Roldán and Johan Steven Medina Correa from Speech Therapy, Valentina Vanegas Restrepo from Psychology, Valentina Colorado Bedoya from Business Administration (face-to-face), James Pulgarín Gaviria from Administration of Companies (virtual), Luisa Fernanda Montoya Gómez of Public Accounting (face-to-face), Karol Caviedes Gaviria of Public Accounting (virtual) and Carolina Calle Vélez of Software Engineering.
The exalted received exemption of 100%, 50% and 30% in the payment of tuition fees in the first semester of 2022.
