The Maria Mano University Foundation Participates at National Dialogues in Cauca

The Maria Cano Community participated in the meeting led by President of Colombia, Iván Duque Márquez, along with the population of Popayan, in which indigenous people, afro-descendants, social leaders, farmers, young people, teachers, members of the productive sector, union leaders, community mothers and unions from the southwest of Colombia participated and analysed issues of impact on coexistence, economic growth, sustainability of the region and the well-being of all the inhabitants of this important and outstanding area of Colombia. Among the topics to be discussed, the following were stood out: fight against corruption, defense and protection of the environment, quality of institutions and entities, peace with legality, growth with equity, education, productive sector and repair of damaged roads.
The meeting took place in Comfacauca and was led by Mayor of the city, Juan Carlos Lopez Castrillon, and Governor of Cauca, Elias Larrahondo Carabali, who were accompanied by Director of the Administrative Department of the Presidency of the Republic (DAPRE by its acronym in Spanish) Diego Andres Molano; Alicia Arango, Minister of Internal Affairs; Miguel Antonio Ceballos, High Commissioner for Peace and Luis Alberto Rodriguez, Director of the National Planning Department (DNP by its acronym in Spanish), accompanied by representatives and spokespersons from the different ministries of the National Government.
Coordinator of the Campus, Angelica Maria Zuluaga Calle, along with professors and students of the institution in the capital of Cauca, participated in the activity that allowed them to learn about the impact of higher education in the plans and projects led by national, regional and local authorities, for the benefit of the community.
