Traveling Book Bag Cali
- 15 agosto, 2025

The María Cano University Foundation in Cali joins as a beneficiary institution, encouraging and promoting reading habits among its students and academic community by taking advantage of the resources offered by this initiative.
The city’s Public Library Network, in coordination with the Secretariat of Culture, has launched the Traveling Book Bag program, a free initiative that brings reading closer to communities in the southern part of the city that do not have a nearby library.
The service consists of lending 20 to 30 books to educational institutions, daycare centers, and senior centers. The books are delivered directly to the site, with a loan period of 15 business days, which can be renewed for an additional 15 days if needed.
In addition, the program promotes free registration to La Llave del Saber (The Key to Knowledge), a code that grants access to Cali’s 64 public libraries, the Departmental Library, and the National Network of Public Libraries. This access allows users to enjoy services such as guided tours, cultural and sports activities, and access to historical collections—including the Centenario Library, the first municipal public library in Colombia.
With the Traveling Book Bag, reading travels and culture comes closer, strengthening the María Cano University Foundation’s commitment to the comprehensive education of its students.
