United for Biodiversity: Fundación Universitaria María Cano at COP 16
- 6 noviembre, 2024

The most important global forum for discussing the United Nations Convention on Biological Diversity, known as COP 16, took place in the city of Cali. The city served as the venue for a series of United Nations Biodiversity Conferences, with 23,000 delegates from 196 countries participating between October 21 and November 1. Our María Cano Cali campus participated in this event, with members of the academic community attending various presentations and activities held as part of the conference sessions. #MásMaríaCano
This space allowed our students and professors to deepen their understanding of current and urgent issues related to biodiversity and its conservation challenges, while also strengthening their knowledge of sustainability and environmental management. Participation in COP 16 reflects the interest of Colombian society in staying informed about international dialogues that drive concrete actions for the protection of our natural environment, where our institution joins and participates in agreements aimed at transforming cities through education. We understand the responsibility of training well-rounded professionals committed to the well-being and health of all, with a focus on achieving the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) by 2030.
