The Physiotherapy, Speech Therapy, Psychology, Occupational Therapy and Nutrition and Dietetics programs of María Cano, at the national level, met in person at each headquarters, connected simultaneously, to present the progress of the different research projects of the seedbeds and the groups Fisioter, Fonotec and Psique y Sociedad. With a total of 18 presentations by researchers and 4 master presentations, with the presence of national guests, the actions of the Institution through the investigative processes were highlighted. It is important to highlight the collaboration of the speakers Pablo Julián Moreno from the Ministry of Science, Technology and Innovation with the topic: “Social appropriation of knowledge and its incorporation in the research process”, as well as Dr. Gustavo de la Hoz Herrera, from the Universidad Libre de Barranquilla, with the topic of the quality of degree work in times of pandemic.
For the María Cano University Foundation, it is important to highlight the work of the students of the programs within the Research Seedbeds, because it demonstrates the result of the institutional mission of forming generational change through research. In this regard, the seedbed fair was held that allowed each group to present their work to the academic community in a festive and inclusive framework. At this point, the three best works were awarded, highlighting the following:
- First place for David González Naranjo and Jeferson Causil Arredondo del Semillero “Physical activity and sport of the Fisioter group” with the work called: Effects of training with flow restriction on muscle trophism.
- Second place for Brayan Ayala Molina del Semillero “Fonoinvestigamos del Grupo Fonotec” with the work titled: TMJ dysfunction and its relationship with chewing and facial asymmetry.
- Third place for Ashly Yanitza Pico Torres from the Fisioter research group at the Cali headquarters, with the work: Changes in musculoskeletal flexibility in students who practice physical activity.
With these meetings, the María Cano Faculty of Health Sciences promotes the exchange of experiences, knowledge and results between the different actors involved in the generation of new knowledge in the research groups of the academic programs, while integrating the work that the academic community develops in the regions where María Cano has a presence: Medellín, Cali, Neiva and Popayán.
During the event, both teachers and students presented the progress in their projects, which address various topics related to health, well-being and quality of life from a multicultural perspective.
