Virtual Teacher Training Workshop
- 23 julio, 2024

This activity led by Mariacanovirtual was in charge of the pedagogical coordinator, Dubys Mary Ramírez Jiménez, where the Faculties of Business Sciences and Health Sciences participated. The workshop was guided under the virtual modality with the methodology of online classes, with a duration of 15 hours. Its main objective was to develop skills in the use and application of teaching strategies mediated by ICT (Information and Communication Technologies) to improve the quality of teaching and learning in virtual environments. This workshop also seeks to ensure that its teachers are better prepared to offer quality education in the virtual modality, and that their students can benefit from a dynamic and effective educational experience.
The workshop was very well received by the participants. Proof of this was the attendance at all the synchronous meetings and the participation in the practical workshops that were carried out as part of the evaluation activities. As a result, 20 teachers were certified. At the end of the workshop, some of the teachers highlighted the work done and expressed words of gratitude in the satisfaction survey. We highlight among them the words of Professor Ana Milena Gaviria Gómez, from the Psychology program, from the Medellín headquarters:
«I want to express my gratitude to the university in general and to the area of virtuality in particular for the permanent interest in improving my skills as a virtual teacher. Since I have been part of the María Cano I have found an institutional commitment that demonstrates the determined commitment because virtual training offered by the institution is of high quality. This workshop, like the other training activities given by the virtual area, was accompanied by an excellent teacher. I thank Dubys Mary Ramírez (and at the same time admire) her patience and real interest. because we learn and come to master both the tool and the Mariacanovirtual Pedagogical Model like her.»
The course also had a badge strategy in which teachers were recognized for attendance and participation.
Mariacanovirtual congratulates the group of teachers who satisfactorily completed the workshop and were certified, reaffirming their commitment to continue strengthening ICT competencies. With this workshop, the digital skills of María Cano teachers are increasingly consolidated with more than 680 teachers and collaborators certified in the training line of Use and appropriation of ICT.
